Remembrance Sunday – The Kingdom of Peace

The Kingdom of Peace

Isaiah 65: 17-25 and Luke 19: 37-44

There is a very short and simple hymn with a challenge that has been too big for many people to embrace. It simply says: “peace, perfect peace, is the gift of Christ our Lord,” with a reminder, incase you missed it, “peace, perfect peace, is the gift of Christ out Lord. Thus, says the Lord, will the world know my friends.” CONTINUE READING ...

The Rainbow Kingdom

The Rainbow Kingdom

Matthew 5: 1-12 and Revelation 7: 9-end

Heaven must be like a rainbow kingdom with people of different races and cultures rejoicing together as one in praise of God — and this is my vision for earth. This IS the will of our Father so may it be done and one day come to earth. CONTINUE READING ...

The Neglected Child

She’s our sister, let’s make her better!

A message to celebrate One World Week

Read: Matthew 22: 34-46

I would like to sing, but I wont’t. The song would be: He’s got the whole wide world in his hands, He’s got the whole world in his hands….

The world is like a new born child that a Father looks at in awesome wonder at the beginning of a great love story. It is a love from the beginning that has no ending! CONTINUE READING ...

Sunday Sermon 11th October – A Sunday To Remember Homeless People

A SUNDAY TO REMEMBER HOMELESS PEOPLE!

Build people for homes;

build houses with hearts

and may love make a home….

Isaiah 58: 6-12 and Matthew 25: 34-40

When the disciples asks Jesus where he is living he says, “come, and you will see!” Have you ever wondered what they saw? I wonder whether they crowded into a tiny bedsitter with a shared bathroom down the corridor or whether he was sofa surfing, as they say, at Martha and Mary’s neat little terrace house. I somehow doubt it was a five bed mansion that he lived in, but it could have been a shop doorway or under a tree. CONTINUE READING ...

Sunday Sermon 4th October – Don’t let it happen!

Don’t let it happen!

Isaiah 5: 1-7 and Matthew 21: 33-46

There is a warning on a packet of cigarettes that if you smoke there is a danger to your health in the future. There are warning signs on gambling adverts that “when the fun stops stop” and if you don’t stop, you don’t know what it will do to your future. There are warning signs “not to drink and drive” and if you do there is no knowing how many lives might be ruined in the future. Sunday Sermon 6th September – Listen with Love

Listen with Love

Matthew 18: 15-20

One thing I am sure we agree on is that where two or three gather in his name Jesus is among us. Jesus stands among us at the meeting of our lives and will be our sweet agreement through the meeting of our eyes…

Oh, if only, we did see eye to eye, but I’m not so confident that the two or three — 20 or 30 or 200 or 300 — do listen to the one voice among us that heals and reconciles the pain and differences or forgives what we perceive as sin. CONTINUE READING ...

Sunday Sermon 23rd August – Who do YOU say Jesus is?

Who do YOU say Jesus is?

Matthew 16: 13-20

It doesn’t matter what other people think, what is most important is who Jesus is to you and whether you are ready to confess your faith to the world. It doesn’t matter who I say Jesus is, or who any other preacher says he is, because it’s our Father in heaven who reveals the truth, not me, or any other person. CONTINUE READING ...
